Joel Salatin

Joel Salatin will head the speaker venue. He is an American farmer, lecturer, and author whose books include You Can Farm and Salad Bar Beef. Salatin raises livestock using holistic methods of animal husbandry, free of potentially harmful chemicals, on his Polyface farm in Swoope, Virginia, in the Shenandoah Valley.

Robyn O’Brien

Before founding AllergyKids on Mothers’ Day 2006 after her fourth child was diagnosed with food allergies, Robyn earned a Fulbright grant, an MBA on a full scholarship and served as a food industry analyst on one of the nation’s largest mid-cap funds.   She has been named by SHAPE Magazine as one of 2009’s “Women To Shape the World,” called “food’s Erin Brockovich” by the New York Times, an “Inspiring Woman to Follow on Twitter” by Forbes and a “Visionary” by the Discovery Channel.

Her first book, The Unhealthy Truth: How Our Food Is Making Us Sick and What We Can Do About It (Random House, May 2009), highlights the role that chemicals in our food supply are having on our health and how they affect the 1 in 3 American children with allergies, autism, ADHD and asthma. Robyn also serves on the board of the Environmental Working Group, writes a colum about Women and Food for Martha Stewart’s Whole Living and serves as a contributing editor to SHAPE magazine.

Born and raised on Twinkies and PoBoys in Houston, Texas, Robyn is an inspiring speakerwho believes that each and every once of us is capable of affecting remarkable change.  She lives in Colorado with her husband and four children.
